Having rescued big cats from all over the United States, The Wildcat Sanctuary (TWS) and The International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) know only too well the enormity of such a task. But without our lifesaving efforts, many animals would suffer. Now together, we have funded one more tool to help fight the captive wildlife crisis. A new rescue trailer.
This new rescue trailer will accommodate up to five big cats at a time. It is temperature controlled with both heat and air and ready for any rescue no matter what the temperature. The trailer will also be equipped with close circuit TV and camera for us to be able to closely monitor animals in transport.
This trailer will help so many animals including rescues coming to TWS, rescues we transport to other sanctuaries, domestic animals during disaster relief as well as serve as an evacuation trailer for TWS in case of an emergency.
“As always we want to work together with other organizations for the benefit of the animals,” Thies said. “The International Fund for Animal Welfare has that same philosophy and we are thankful that they wanted to be part of this project.”
