As suspected, this year’s Jungle Boogie – Panther on the Prowl – was a huge success! More than 200 supporters of TWS turned out for a party with a purpose and together we grossed over $87,000 for the cats!
Jungle Boogie is a great example of like-minded people with a mission joining forces for a great cause. We received hundreds of donated auction items, enlisted many hours of volunteer time and had wonderful sponsors. EVERY aspect of Jungle Boogie rests on the commitment, compassion and generosity of these people!
We owe a huge debt of gratitude to our dinner sponsors, Charles and Emily Durant; our media sponsor Love 105 FM; our patron table sponsors Cedar Pet Clinic Lake Elmo, Delta Vacations, Charles and Emily Durant, the Mahley Family Foundation and the Purrfect 10. Many thanks also to our sponsors Wrap City Graphics, Nordic Naturals, Primal Pet Foods and to our cash and in-kind donors PCML Photography, Dim Media, HDMG, Matrek’s Printing, DJ Drew Miller and Fred
Astaire Dance Studios. This year, we were honored to have Ted Schick of Schick Corporate Learning as our emcee. Ted made the trip from Duluth and donated his time to our event.
This year, we jump-started our major fundraiser, GIVE TO THE MAX with matching fund pledges from Joe & Shirley Wolf, The Mahley Family Foundation, Sue & Dan Schmitt, Barbara Thies & David Christensen. These pledges are bound to inspire others to give on November 15th and we are so appreciative of this generosity.
As always, we send a big thank you to Dr. John Baillie, DVM for his auctioneering skills. Dr. Baillie and his staff are steadfast supporters of TWS and come out in force to support us at the event and all year long! Congratulations to our Lion Pride Award recipients Dr. Noemi Plantz, DVM and board member Gail Plewacki, both of whom have been exceptional supporters of TWS.
Most of all, we extend our gratitude to the driving force behind this event, TWS Programs Coordinator, Christine Dietsche. Christine works tirelessly on Jungle Boogie for months in advance to make sure every detail is covered and our guests have the best possible experience. Thank you Christine!
We also want to thank our very special Jungle Boogie Committee members for their outstanding work: Christine Dietsche, Julie
Heifort, Pamela Lammersen, Diane Palmersheim, Tracy Plunkett, Terri Uglem, Nina Ritchie, Anja Drescher, Katherine Block, Holly Whitney, Amy Richman, Amber Murphy and Chris Merton. It is an impressive undertaking to throw a party like Jungle Boogie and so many hours go into planning it. Please thank and congratulate this fine team when you see them.
Along with this committee, many of our volunteers help with this event, as well as our staff and interns. Their dedication goes beyond the call of duty! Special thanks to the Marriott West for once again proving to be a hospitable, professional, accommodating host!
Congratulations to our raffle winners: The first-prize raffle of $500 went to Liz P. (#1299), second-prize of $250 went to Lauren S. (#1888); and third prize of $100 cash went to John C (#1513). Also, to volunteer Teri Day who sold the most raffle tickets. Our first ever Wine Wall was won by David W. and Elizabeth E.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to the success of Jungle Boogie 2012! The night would not have been possible without the support of our attendees, many gracious donors and sponsors… and the enormous energy of our volunteers, interns and Jungle Boogie committee. We are already looking forward to next year!
