phoenix and nunda |
| Nunda and her brother Phoenix, African
servals, were surrendered by a private owner.
The owner moved to a state where it was illegal to have exotic
cats as pets and was concerned that they would be seized and
destroyed.
Even though the owner loved the cats
dearly, she did not understand what was best for them. Phoenix
and Nunda arrived at 14 and 16 lbs., the smallest servals
that we had ever seen. Their owner explained that both had
several surgeries for intestinal obstructions. She continued
to give them domestic cat toys that they ingested, but she
felt they were bored without the toys.
At the Sanctuary they enjoy safe toys
such as feathers, cardboard boxes and indestructible balls.
But their favorite thing is a pool in the summer. They now
live with several other servals and one caracal.
