April 2009 - TWS is saddened to announce that Samantha the playful Bengal has passed away from a liver condition. Samantha was a cat that always let staff know when the seasons where changing. She would be the first to plump up for the winter and the first to get nice and trim for the summer. This is how she got her nickname, “Summer Sam.” In the winter she could be found in her warm bungalow curled up with another Bengal in a cozy bed.
But it seemed as though her favorite time was the long summer days where she could pounce in the tall grass, roll in some catnip on her perches and take her turn at the feather toy. She also loved it when she got a treat of mice for breakfast and, like any typical cat she had so much fun playing with her food.
Samantha will be greatly missed by her fellow cagemates as they all shared a very close and loving bond with one another.
Please donate in Samantha’s honor to help other cats in need.
TWS was contacted by a Bengal rescue group in Colorado. A larger breeder was closing down and they needed to place the cats that were not adoptable. They had several hybrid F3 Bengals that were unable to be socialized for adoption.
With the launch of our new hybrid rescue program, we were able to take in nine of their high generation Bengals. All of them were spayed and neutered and now live together in our new hybrid house. The indoor area gives them the comforts of a home environment while their doggy door access gives them an enclosure outdoors where they can climb trees and perches.
