Mesa and two other African servals were seized by the US Fish and Game Department in Arizona. An unlicensed individual had several exotic cats confined to crates and was breeding them illegally.
Mesa is the shyest of the servals. She approaches keepers for food and toys, but otherwise keeps to herself. She shares her enclosure with three servals and one bobcat, They all live in a large outdoor habitat with access to a heated, indoor building.
