Nunda and her brother Phoenix, African servals, were surrendered by a private owner. The owner moved to a state where it was illegal to have exotic cats as pets and was concerned they would be seized and destroyed.
Phoenix and Nunda arrived at 14 and 16 lbs., the smallest servals we had ever seen.
At the Sanctuary, they enjoy safe toys such as feathers, cardboard boxes and indestructible balls. But their favorite thing is a pool in the summer. They now live with several other servals.
You can help provide daily care for Phoenix by becoming his sponsor. Your generosity will be greatly appreciated since the cost for a serval’s nutritious diet, medical and dental care, daily enrichment, and habitat improvement runs into 1,000’s of dollars.
Though small, they’re still wild with many needs.
