The Wildcat Sanctuary Board of Directors is pleased to announce the addition of three new members. We are excited to bring  fresh talent to our organization and believe these accomplished people will help continue to lead TWS to a bright and sustainable future.

Sue Schmitt

Sue Schmitt and her husband Dan are owners and operators of the successful Schmitty and Sons School Bus Inc., a family-owned business founded in 1952. The company has 440 employees, 300 buses and provides repair service and equipment sales. The Schmitt’s are also longtime, generous donors to The Wildcat Sanctuary. Sue brings essential skills to the TWS board, including financial management, human resource expertise, procurement experience, and knowledge of equipment repair and maintenance. Both Sue and Dan have also been enthusiastic ambassadors for The Wildcat Sanctuary.

Peggy Callahan

Peggy is the founder and executive director of the Wildlife Science Center here in Minnesota.  Peggy earned a degree in Biology from Carleton College and began working for the “Wolf Project” in August 1985. For five years she managed the colony for research, focusing on refining chemical immobilization techniques for use in the field. When federal funding for the Wolf Project ceased in 1991, the Wildlife Science Center was created by Peggy to keep the facility open. For more than 20 years, Peggy has kept the Wildlife Science Center open and running for the study and reintroduction of wolves in North America. Peggy brings us her skills as both a scientist and  extensive knowledge about animal rescue and care. She is respected and renowned for her research and knowledge by experts across the country.

Heather Macleod

Heather is the Executive Director of CPN Triage Services in Minnetonka, MN. She comes to us with a strong background in healthcare and care management operations. She has an exceptional performance history with patient/client-centered and matrix-leadership environments, and has demonstrated skill in employee and leadership management, client services, organizational strategy, and financial management. Heather has a BA in Social Work, a Masters of Social Work and a Masters in Organizational Management.
