The Wildcat Sanctuary just received a generous $50,000 challenge grant
from legendary Bob Barker
and the DJ&T Foundation.

This means every dollar received by August 31 (up to $50,000) will be matched! Since we need to raise over $100,000 to build an indoor shelter building for the cats in the Feline Meadows area of the sanctuary, this is a much needed match we hope inspires many to give, too.

Director Tammy Thies said, “We’re so honored to receive such a special gift from a person who does so much for animals.  His support is humbling and will benefit so many rescued big cats and inspire others to give.”Bob Barker told The Pet Press of his support for animal causes:“About 20 years ago I was chairman of Be Kind to Animals Week in L.A. I was invited by different organizations to participate in their activities. As I did, I began to become aware of the terrible exploitation of animals in the world and felt compelled to try to rectify the situation. And that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.”Bob Barker is best known for hosting The Price Is Right, ending every episode saying “Help control the pet population. Have your pets spayed or neutered.”

Will you consider donating today to help us complete the Feline Meadows building? Cats, like Logan below, will be so happy to have comfortable, indoor, warm den areas to snuggle up in before winter arrives this year – thanks to you!

ZeusUPDATE 7-19-16

We’re so excited to share the good news that the Bob Barker donation match has been met!!  With the help of so many wonderful donors, some great media coverage (even USA TODAY!), a lot of social media sharing, and a very successful hosted fundraising event,we were able to meet the match in just over three weeks!

By encouraging others to give, Bob Barker helped fund a lot of construction in the new Feline Meadows section of our sanctuary. The slad for the new animal building has been poured and more work is underway.  The total project cost for this new area is approximately $136,000.  Since the match covered $100,000 of that, we’ll still need to raise over $36,000 to cover the cost of the project and $5,000 to cover the new road needed to reach that section of the sanctuary.

If you’d like to help finish this area for many cats waiting to enjoy it, you can donate HERE.
