DJ is a 3-year-old male Bengal who arrived at the sanctuary in February of 2022.
We were contacted that Minneapolis Animal Control had an unsocialized Bengal cat in need of rescue.

Due to the wild component of his breed and him being so terrified, he needs rescue placement. He will likely take quite some time to warm up and may not ever be good (open and friendly) with strangers or young kids.”
Life at the Sanctuary
The description about DJ was spot on. He was so scared when he arrived at TWS. It was obvious, it would take some time for him to learn to trust.
But we had a plan, and it worked!
In Hybrid Haven, we had merged two other shy Bengals Rachel and Axel. We wondered if DJ might enjoy living with them in their bungalow habitat.
After we moved him there, it was hard to tell what he was up to since the three of them tended to retreat when caretakers entered their bungalow. So we set up a “Nanny Cam” and were so happy to see that, without humans around, they were even cuddling together already!
DJ realizes the best is yet to come as he learns to stretch his wild side with us. He deserved this chance all along.
How You Can Help
It would be so wonderful for DJ to have a sponsor parent. What a special way to welcome him to his forever home.
If you’d like to be his sponsor parent for $150 annually or $12.50 monthly, it’s easy to do using the buttons at the top of this page. Or, a one time donation toward his care would also be very helpful.
Thank you for caring about DJ’s future, too.
